Service Area Not Limited To These Areas | |||
Childproofing a home is a lot more advanced than it was when we grew up and that is for good reason. Homes are larger than before, homes contain more electronics with dangerous cords than ever. Modern homes have larger more open areas that are difficult to block off to curious hands. At the same time older homes still have plenty of areas than need to be made safe for exploring children, fortunately this is easier and more affordable than ever.
Gone are the days of using those hard to use outlet protectors that were pressed into sockets only to require incredibly strong fingers or the use of a screwdriver to pry them free when the outlet was needed. Now, attractive outlet covers can be installed with sliding doors that are easy for adults to operate. Remember those hard to use stiff cabinet door latches that you had to squeeze your fingers through the slightly opened door or drawer so that you could press them and release the door? Now latches can be installed that a small magnetic device is placed in a certain area outside the door or drawer releasing the mechanism so that it can be opened with ease.
The world of childproofing has gone far beyond the basics we had, now do to much research and lower manufacturing costs entire homes can be made nearly childproofed. Items such as toilet seat locks prevent accidental drowning, auxiliary lower handrails allow children to use stairs more at ease, stove guards prevent children from pulling dangerously hot pots onto there heads, furniture straps prevents furniture from tipping over and smothering children, pads prevent sharp edges of furniture and fireplace hearths from being accidents waiting to happen, window guards prevent children from falling from second story windows( insect screens will not hold against a child's weight), cord keepers prevent accidental strangulation, large gates with extensions make it easy to cordon off areas yet allow adults by with little difficulty, the list goes on and on.
Whatever your budget is some child proofing is always a good idea if you have children
that are at that age. If you need some help installing any of these items listed
or any of the hundreds I haven't feel free to call Anderqual Handyman at 847-
